Dan Liptak
Dan learned to paint as a college student during summers working on a crew in Stowe VT. He very quickly fell in love with working outside and the hustle and physicalness of bringing projects to completion. During this time period he started to expand to working on side projects to gain more skills in the trade.
Dan Liptak formed Mad River Painting in 2016, as a summer only business to work around his teaching career, where he taught instrumental music in Waterbury VT from 2010-2024.
In 2020, the business started to expand to offer interior painting and new construction painting services with the covid boom that brought an influx of new construction, renovations and new home purchasers to Vermont.
After working as a side job for 12 years, Dan made the career change in 2024 to focusing on his business full time. The business further expanded under this change, hiring more crew members.
Dan remains an active performer of music, playing woodwinds in TURNmusic, Saturn Peoples Sound Collective and with various ensembles of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. He lives in Moretown VT with his wife and three sons.
